The artist
Giorgi Sisauri was born in Tbilisi in 1996, the fourth child in a family of artists, and was painting biblical scenes and intricate geometric compositions by the age of seven.
At fourteen his drawings reached experts at the Louvre, who called him a virtuoso; an invitation from the Paris Academy of Art followed within months. In 2015 the Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts recognized him as a Master of Georgian Calligraphy.
He works across Mkhedruli, Asomtavruli and Nuskhuri as well as Latin, Cyrillic, Greek and Arabic, and is the author of five books and some 800 graphic and calligraphic works.
